Mehling Industries spearheaded the Remote/Linhart Pond Remediation and Reline Project with a pioneering approach, showcasing our capability to address complex environmental challenges with precision and innovation. This ambitious project centered on the cleaning, repairing, and relining of a 1,000,000 bbl and a 250,000 bbl produced water pond, demanding sophisticated solutions for effective remediation.

Key Project Features:

1. Unmanned Robotic Squeegee and Proprietary Vacuum System:

Mehling Industries harnessed the power of its unmanned robotic squeegee in tandem with a proprietary vacuum system. This dynamic combination facilitated the efficient removal of 18" of clay-like sludge from the pond floors, minimizing human exposure to challenging conditions and optimizing the cleanup process.

2. Air-Driven Water Jet Technology:

Our innovative use of air-driven water jet technology proved instrumental in breaking up solidified materials within the ponds. This approach not only enhanced the efficiency of sludge removal but also prepared the site for subsequent repair and relining processes.

3. Advanced Material Handling:

Overcoming the viscosity of the material, Mehling Industries deployed over 500' of 6" hose to move the solids across the pond floor, ascend the pond wall approximately 35' high, and efficiently deposit them into vac boxes. Remarkably, this meticulous process allowed us to move over 2000 bbls of material daily, showcasing our commitment to efficiency.

4. Repairs and Liner Installation:

Following the successful removal of solids, Mehling Industries executed comprehensive repairs to the pond structures. A combination of textile and a durable 40 mil liner was expertly installed, ensuring the longevity and integrity of the containment system.

5. Sandbag Reinforcement:

To secure the newly installed liner, sandbags were strategically placed around the interior perimeter of the ponds. This precautionary measure ensured that the liner remained in place until our client could maintain a 2' water level in the ponds, fortifying the overall containment structure.

6. Environmental Stewardship:

Mehling Industries maintained a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship throughout the project. Our strategic approach to sludge removal, repairs, and liner installation adhered to stringent environmental standards, aligning with our dedication to responsible and sustainable remediation practices.
